From Fort Frederick, follow the road until you come to the Koneswaram Temple, drink a fine king coconut and enjoy breathtaking views of the entire Trinco Bay.
Here you can’t miss the massive statue of Lord Shiva. The Gokanna Temple nearby also offers panoramic views of the city and coast. Pigeon Island is another famous attraction, reachable by boat from the Trincomalee coast. It’s beautiful pebbly coral beaches are a great spot to go snorkelling and diving from. Finally visitors love to visit the Kanniya hot springs, a great way to mingle with the locas and absorb some local legends about the ancient king Ravana.
